About Michael
Michael Proskiw practised with a top family law firm in Edmonton before founding Proskiw Law, developing a passion for a career exclusively dedicated to family law. He earned his law degree from the University of Alberta after receiving the F.R. (Dick) Matthews Excellence Scholarship in Law for the highest GPA among accounting students entering law school. His pre-law background is in business; he holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in accounting from the Grant MacEwan School of Business. That accounting background helps him understand the financial positions of both sides in a family law dispute involving property, assets and support, and to explain complex corporate, tax and financial arrangements to clients considering settlement proposals.
