About Michael

Michael Finlayson is a partner at Marr Finlayson LLP practicing civil litigation, primarily representing insurers and their insureds in matters involving fires, construction issues, personal injuries, and defamation. He also has experience in commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, and arbitrations, and has appeared before all levels of court in Manitoba as well as the Securities Commission, the Labour Board, and the Workers Compensation Appeal Board. He was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1984 and has litigated cases in Ontario, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. He has served the Law Society of Manitoba as a Bencher and on several of its committees, and has volunteered extensively with community organizations including the United Way and the Canadian Cancer Society.
