About Michael
Michael Ballantyne was called to the Ontario bar in 2004 and practises general corporate and commercial law along with tax law. He holds a B.A. (Hons.) in economics from Lakehead University and an LL.B. from Queen's University. He assists clients with commercial transactions such as reorganizations, acquisitions, sales, and financings, as well as incorporations, PPSA registrations, business name registrations, shareholder agreements and disputes, and business contracts. Michael also represents companies and individuals in dealings with the CRA, including tax objections and appeals, often working alongside a client's own accountants. He practised business law in southern Ontario at a national firm before returning to his hometown of Thunder Bay in 2010, and now instructs a business law course through Lakehead University's Faculty of Business Administration.
