About Matthew

Matthew A. Friedberg has spent his entire career as a criminal defence lawyer, representing clients on charges at every level of court in Ontario. Many of his cases have attracted media coverage, and he has built particular experience defending people accused of homicide, sexual assault, domestic assault, and drug and firearms offences. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1995, having entered at age twenty, and was called to the Ontario bar in 1997. After working as an associate at another Toronto criminal defence firm, he founded Caramanna, Friedberg LLP in 2002. He belongs to the Law Society of Ontario, the Criminal Lawyers' Association, and the Toronto Lawyers' Association, and regularly mentors junior lawyers in criminal law.
