About Mary-Eileen

Mary-Eileen O'Brien is the founding partner of Carleton Law Group, based in Saint John. Her practice focuses on family law, real estate law, and wills and estates, and she also works as a family mediator, having trained in collaborative law, mediation and coaching to help families resolve disputes outside of court where possible. In 2008 she was appointed by the Minister of Justice to New Brunswick's Access to Family Justice Task Force and received the CBA-NB Pro Bono Award in 2009 for that work. She has chaired the New Brunswick Minimum Wage Commission, the CBA-NB Family Law Section and the Canada Pension Appeals Tribunal, and belongs to the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Canadian Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the law societies of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. She is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and the University of New Brunswick, and retired from the Canadian Armed Forces Naval Reserve in 2000 after 15 years of service.
