About Martin

Martin Willemse is a partner at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP and Western Canada Practice Leader of its Long-Term Disability and Personal Injury Law group, representing clients in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. He focuses on helping people with complex chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, multiple sclerosis and mental health disorders whose disability claims have been denied. He is recognized as a resource by organizations including the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and the Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Fibromyalgia Society of BC, and has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia as well as the Federal Court of Appeal. Martin earned his B.L.C. and LL.B. from the University of Pretoria's Faculty of Law, and since 2021 has been recognized by Best Lawyers as one of BC's top insurance lawyers.
