Martin Marceau

About Martin

Marceau practices civil litigation, commercial and banking law, construction law, and bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring, including shareholder and corporate disputes and business acquisitions, and has argued before appellate courts. He has developed particular expertise in banking fraud cases involving individuals, directors and companies in Quebec and abroad, has obtained foreign Mareva injunctions in fraud matters, and took part in an Anton Piller case that became a Quebec Court of Appeal precedent. He has negotiated international contracts and joint ventures, including in North Africa, and served as a military lawyer for Canada's Department of National Defence at the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, advising commanders until 2014 and participating in NATO exercises. In 2019 he received the Barreau Laurentides-Lanaudiere medal recognizing career excellence, and he authored a 2020 publication on sanctioning abuse of process with Editions Yvon Blais.
