Criminal DefenceMark Chiu has practiced law in British Columbia since 2014, working as a negotiator and trial lawyer in family and criminal law. He is a certified Family Law Mediator with the Law Society of British Columbia. Mark has represented the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, acted as defence counsel in serious criminal matters, and handled family law cases including disputes with the Family Maintenance Enforcement Program and the Ministry of Children and Family Development. His family law practice covers division of family property, including assets held by corporations or in trust; parenting disputes involving parental alienation or estrangement; cases that intersect with the criminal justice system; relocation cases; child and spousal support issues; and settlement meetings, mediations and appeals. He holds a degree in psychology from the University of Calgary and a law degree from the University of Saskatchewan. Mark volunteers with Access Pro Bono and has served as Family Law Duty Counsel for Legal Aid BC.
