About Marie
Marie Lussier has managed international trademark portfolios for some of Canada's largest corporations, alongside Canadian-side portfolios belonging to a number of the biggest trademark owners worldwide. Both World Intellectual Property Review and WTR 1000 rank her among the world's leading trademark professionals. She has long been active with the Institute of Intellectual Property of Canada, including teaching its trademark agent training course, serving on the trademark agent exam committee, and directing the McGill-IPIC course on Managing Trademark Disputes. She also sits on several committees of the International Trademark Association and was appointed in 2021 to the Trademark Examining Board of the College of Patent Agents and Trademark Agents. Fluent in French and English, Marie earned a science degree from Queen's University in 1987 and her common and civil law degrees from McGill University in 1991, serving as Comments Editor at the McGill Law Journal along the way and later clerking for Madam Justice Alice Desjardins at the Federal Court of Appeal.
