About Marie
Marie G. Michaels has spent more than 29 years practising family law, serving clients across Durham Region as well as Toronto, Newmarket, Peterborough, Lindsay and Cobourg. She founded her firm in March 1997 shortly after being called to the Ontario bar and studied law at Osgoode Hall. In 2013 she became a certified Collaborative Team Leader, giving clients an alternative to going to court. Her practice covers custody and access, child and spousal support, property division, common-law separation, and restraining orders, and she has particular experience with child abduction cases, spousal battery claims, and disputes over imputed income. She successfully argued two appeals before the Ontario Court of Appeal and volunteers at shelters across the region while mentoring junior lawyers and students.
