About Maiya

Maiya Nevrencan is an associate at Davis & Washburn Law LLP, born and raised in North Bay. She earned an Honours Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in legal studies from Nipissing University and is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She completed her Juris Doctor at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University, specializing in Aboriginal and Indigenous law, and was involved in the Law Students' Society, earning the course prize for highest achievement in tort law. She gained experience at a North Bay firm working on wills, estates, and real estate matters, at the North Bay Crown Attorney's Office prosecuting provincial offences, and through an Integrated Practice Curriculum placement at a large Ottawa firm. Her practice covers family law, criminal defence, real estate, wills and estates, mental health law, Aboriginal and Indigenous law, and civil litigation.
