About Laura
Laura Young began her career with one of Canada's national full-service law firms before starting her own practice, which she has run for more than 25 years. Acting for both employer and employee clients, she advises on wrongful, constructive, and for-cause terminations, executive compensation, workplace human rights issues, severance offer review and negotiation, employment contract drafting, privacy issues, and workplace harassment and misconduct matters. Her litigation practice spans large commercial and constitutional matters and class actions, disputes involving commercial contracts and commercial torts, and professional regulation and liability defence and insurance matters. She has appeared before all levels of the Ontario courts, the Federal Court, and courts in other provinces and tribunals, and has acted for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association on constitutional matters, for Democracy Watch on government ethics matters, and for employee associations seeking the right to unionize, up to the Supreme Court of Canada.
