About Lara

Lara O. Badmus is the principal owner of Lara Law, the Winnipeg practice she opened in March 2023. She was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2010 and has practised law for over three decades in total. Her work is primarily commercial law, including real estate, alongside family law and litigation and wills and estates. Before returning to practice she spent about nine years in ethical compliance oversight roles. She was the first Nigerian immigrant woman called to the Manitoba Bar, has received the Nigerian Association of Manitoba's outstanding community volunteer award, and was recognised by the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, the Honourable Anita R. Neville, for her work supporting Working in Support of Equality (WISE) in Manitoba.
