About Kristen

Kristen Woods co-founded Wharton Woods Family Law and has worked exclusively in family law since being called to the bar in 2010, having previously been a partner at a mid-size Toronto firm. Before law school she completed undergraduate and graduate studies in Family Relations, an academic path that shaped her decision to work with families going through difficult times. She negotiates and drafts cohabitation and marriage contracts, advises on decision-making responsibility and parenting time, and guides clients through child and spousal support obligations. She handles separation and divorce matters using a mix of negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation, and appears regularly before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice. She trained as a collaborative lawyer and holds degrees from the University of Guelph, the University of British Columbia and the University of Western Ontario, where she earned her JD in 2009.
