Real Estate LawKim Karras is the principal of BKS Law and has practiced since 1986. Her work spans wealth preservation and estate planning, trusts, business succession, corporate reorganizations, estate freezes, real estate, and business law, and she oversees the firm's residential and commercial real estate practice. She works with clients and their accountants and financial planners to build personalized estate plans and represents executors and administrators through estate administration and grants. Kim obtained a Family Enterprise Advisor designation in 2015, which she held until 2025, and is a registered Trust and Estate Practitioner with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. She has instructed frequently for the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC and was named on its list of most prolific volunteers from 1996 to 2016. Kim received the Canadian Bar Association's Community Service Award in 2014, a Paul Harris Fellowship from Rotary International in 2010, and was named the South Surrey/White Rock Chamber of Commerce's Independent Business Person of the Year in 2005. She earned her Bachelor of Commerce and law degree from the University of British Columbia and has been ranked by Best Lawyers in Canada in Trusts and Estates from 2016 to 2026.
