About Kathy

Kathy represents loan servicers, including portfolio servicers and primary and sub-servicers of securitized loans, advising on consent requests such as loan assumptions, ownership transfers, easements and loan modifications. She also represents lenders in commercial real estate finance transactions involving multifamily properties, with particular knowledge of loans sold to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Her work includes preparing and negotiating loan documents, reviewing legal opinions, conducting due diligence, and resolving title and survey issues to help close deals smoothly. Kathy joined the firm along with colleagues from Moss & Barnett in 2026. Before entering private practice, she clerked for two judges in southwest Minnesota. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School and a B.A. in philosophy and speech communications from the University of Washington, and she's admitted to practice in Minnesota and California.
