About Kate
Kate Brindley was called to the Ontario bar in 2010 and is an experienced litigator who works primarily in criminal defence, along with coroner's inquests. She holds an Honours B.A. from the University of British Columbia and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto. She articled at Ontario's Crown Law Office, Criminal, working on cases at all levels of court up to the Supreme Court of Canada. Kate leads the firm's student program and teaches advanced criminal advocacy at Lakehead University's Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. She's a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association, has presented at continuing education programs for the Thunder Bay Law Association and the CLA, and has served on the boards of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Northwestern Ontario and the Defence Counsel Association of Thunder Bay. Kate has also helped launch Thunder Bay's women-in-criminal-defence-law initiatives and co-hosts related events for lawyers and students each year.
