About Karen

Karen Rackel practices in wills and estates, real estate, and corporate law in Edmonton, with more than 40 years of experience. Rackel holds Commerce and Law degrees from the University of Alberta and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2005. Rackel has taught as a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta and spent a decade teaching the Wills section of the Bar Admission Course. Rackel has served as past president of the Estate Planning Council and chaired the Canadian Bar Association's Wills Section. Rackel was the first female president of the Royal Canadian Golf Association and is a founding director of the Florence E. Taylor Charitable Foundation, which provides scholarships supporting women's education.
