Julie Taub is a bilingual immigration lawyer practicing in Ottawa with more than 15 years of experience in Canadian immigration law. She is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the County of Carleton Law Association, and the Barreau du Quebec, and is recognized by the Government of Canada as an authorized representative. Her practice focuses on spousal sponsorships, Express Entry immigration, work permits, LMIAs, student and visitor visas, refugee claims, PRRAs, and appeals, and she has appeared before the Federal Court and all three divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board on behalf of clients. She previously served as a Member of the IRB's Refugee Protection Division in Toronto from 1997 to 2000 and was part-time duty counsel with Ottawa Legal Aid on the Immigration Panel until 2012. Before her immigration career, she practiced general and family law and worked as a secondary school teacher. Julie is regularly interviewed by national media, including CBC and CTV, on immigration issues and has testified before parliamentary committees on immigration legislation. She earned her LL.B. from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law (French program) in 1992, a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Toronto (1971), a B.Ed. from Queen's University (1972), and an M.Ed. from the University of Ottawa (1978).
