About José

José P. Dorais works within Dunton Rainville's commercial, banking, and real estate affairs team. Admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 1974, Dorais has broad expertise in business law both locally and internationally. He has extensive experience across all areas of business law and advises clients on a regular basis on business decisions as well as major transactions. He also practises environmental and sustainable development law, administrative and public law, corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions. Dorais has represented a wide range of clients in fields including automotive and aerospace design and manufacturing, engineering consulting and waste management, the forestry industry and international trade, the aluminum industry, print media, and alcoholic beverages. Having served as a ministerial attaché for the Quebec government early in his career, he brings clients a strong understanding of government decision-making processes and their effects on business activities. In addition to his practice, Dorais has held seats on the boards of directors of numerous organizations.
