About Jonathan

Jonathan J. Israels is a Vancouver criminal defence lawyer who previously spent five and a half years as a Crown Prosecutor in Provincial and Supreme Court in Vancouver, with additional prosecution work in North Vancouver and as an ad hoc Crown in Surrey. He has practiced criminal law exclusively for over 25 years, focusing on crimes of violence including domestic and sexual assault, uttering threats, harassment, driving offences, weapons and firearms, drug offences, and property crimes. Israels obtained his law degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of British Columbia. He is a member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia, the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, and the Criminal Defence Litigation Group, and he guest lectures for the Justice Education Society of B.C.
