About John

John Sipos is a graduate of Trinity College at the University of Toronto who earned his Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall in 1988. He trained at the firm of Hamilton, Shilton and Shaw before being called to the bar in 1990, and has since practised for 36 years before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Court of Appeal. His civil litigation work covers negligence, breach of contract, insurance law, construction liens, wrongful dismissal, constructive trusts, estate disputes, and personal injury claims. In family law, he drafts separation agreements, prenuptial agreements, and marriage contracts, and represents clients in custody and access disputes and support calculations. From 2004 to 2011 he served as Federal Drug Prosecutor for the County of Perth and has conducted numerous jury trials as both defence and Crown counsel.
