About John

John Carlson is the managing partner at DDC Lawyers, practising insurance defence litigation. Carlson grew up in Edmonton and earned a law degree from the University of Alberta in 1995, joining DDC in 2003 after being called to the Alberta bar in 1996. Carlson has appeared at all levels of court in Alberta, up to the Court of Appeal, and has represented clients before the Employment Insurance Commission, the Federal Court, and the WCB Appeals Commission. John has co-authored Quicklaw's annual Personal Injury Damages publication and has spoken at civil litigation and insurance seminars. Carlson previously chaired the Northern Alberta Insurance Section of the Canadian Bar Association.
