About Thomas

Thomas Chiu was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Edmonton in 1968. He earned Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts (economics major), and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of Alberta. He articled with Snyder & Company in 1990 and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in July 1991, later spending thirteen years as a partner at Mah & Chiu. His practice covers corporate and commercial law, immigration law, and residential conveyancing. He is active in Edmonton's Chinese community, serving as legal counsel to the Alberta Kaiping District Association and the Alberta Kwan Ying Athletic Club.
