About Jean-Pierre

Jean-Pierre Riel has more than 25 years of experience in real estate law, with a specialization in commercial leasing. He founded Riel & Associés in 2000 after previously working as in-house counsel at TrizecHahn, where he took part in a number of major real estate transactions, including more than ten years as lead commercial leasing counsel for the largest commercial development project in the greater Montreal area. His clients include major institutional corporations, developers and tenants seeking specialized real estate legal services across Quebec and Canada, and he has substantial experience in commercial sales and acquisitions, litigation and arbitration. He has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1986 and holds an LL.L. from the University of Ottawa, a certificate in European studies from the IHEC at the Université de Strasbourg, and a D.E.A. in international economic law from Université Paris 1 (Sorbonne). He is recognized in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and regularly contributes to publications on real estate law.
