About Jean

Jean Farley is the founder of FarleyLegal, a Montreal boutique focused on business and transactional law. Before starting the firm, he was a partner at Stikeman Elliott from 2002, where he led the firm's Montreal Corporate Services group and chaired its Montreal Professional Services Committee, and he worked in Stikeman Elliott's London, UK office in 2000 and 2001. His practice covers mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts and related financing, private placements, strategic alliances, joint ventures and fund formation. He advises public and private companies, private equity firms, investment banks and entrepreneurs across Canada, the United States, Mexico and abroad, in sectors including financial services, food processing and packaging, software and technology, media and telecommunications, and manufacturing. He holds civil law and common law degrees from the University of Ottawa and was admitted to the Quebec bar in 1994.
