About Jean-Claude

Jean-Claude Nguyen is a barrister and solicitor based in Iqaluit who practises in labour law, administrative law, contract law, business law and criminal law. He offers services in French and English and has basic conversational ability in Inuktitut and Spanish. He has sat on the board of directors of Carrefour Nunavut, an organization supporting the economic development of the Franco-Nunavut community, since 2019, and previously served on the supervisory board of a Desjardins credit union in Hull-Aylmer. He has been the returning officer for the Nunavut riding with Elections Canada since May 2023, after serving as assistant returning officer for Nunavut in 2019, and spent more than 12 years in federal, provincial, territorial and municipal public administration alongside his legal studies. He earned a diploma in Paralegal Technologies from O'Sullivan College of Montreal in 2013 and a Licentiate in Laws from the University of Ottawa in 2018, and completed the Bar School of Quebec's professional and practical training program in 2022.
