James R. Lane has represented accounting firms, individual accountants, and their insurers for more than 20 years, along with clients in engineering and financial services and insurance underwriters, brokers, and municipalities. His work includes disciplinary and licensing matters for accountants, engineers, and financial advisors, advice to professional firms on regulatory compliance and specialized contracts, and a commercial litigation practice in which he frequently defends regulated professionals appointed by their liability insurers. He graduated from the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University in 1986 and from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1989, and was admitted to the Ontario bar in 1991.
