About James
James Trobert was born and raised in Estevan and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from the University of Saskatchewan in 1994, followed by his Bachelor of Laws from the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan in 1996. He was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1997 and articled with Ed Komarnicki at Komarnicki Law Firm in Estevan, later practising as Komarnicki Trobert. He opened Trobert Law Firm Prof. Corp. in 2008 and, in 2020, formed Trobert Gilliss Law Firm together with Kathryn Gilliss. His practice covers real estate, wills and estates, municipal law, corporate and commercial matters, and civil litigation, and he has appeared before every level of Saskatchewan court as well as various boards and tribunals. Outside the office, he has served as a councillor for the RM of Estevan and has been active with the United Way, Estevan Minor Football, and other community organizations.
