About Kathryn

Kathryn Gilliss was raised in Estevan and earned her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Studies from the University of Calgary in 2010, followed by her Juris Doctor from the College of Law at the University of Calgary in 2014. She worked as a summer student at Trobert Law Firm in 2012 and 2013 and returned for her articles in 2014, receiving the Saskatchewan Provincial Court Judges Association's Articling Student Proficiency Award in 2015. She was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2015 and has appeared before the Provincial Courts of Saskatchewan and Alberta and the Saskatchewan Court of Queen's Bench. Her practice focuses on criminal defence, civil litigation, real estate, wills and estates, employment law, and corporate and commercial matters. She is involved in the community as a board member of the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum and a volunteer lawyer with Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan, and she is also a Skate Canada certified skating judge and technical specialist.
