About James

James E. B. Johnston, known as Jim, was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. He received a Bachelor of Science from St. Francis Xavier University and spent a year in additional studies at Dalhousie University before earning his Bachelor of Law from the University of New Brunswick in 1982. He was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1984 and has practiced law in Alberta for more than 30 years, specializing in family law, litigation, real estate, adoption, criminal defence, and child advocacy. Johnston has been a member of the West Edmonton Rotary Club for more than 30 years and received the Paul Harris Fellow award recognizing his service to the club.
