About James

James (Jim) A. Doyle practises civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance defence, including product liability, property damage, motor vehicle, and construction claims, as well as commercial litigation, personal injury, and claims against professionals. He appears regularly before the BC Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, and has appeared before the Federal Court of Canada and Federal Court of Appeal. Doyle is a past Adjunct Professor at the UBC Faculty of Law (Insurance - Motor Vehicle, 2008-2021), a past Instructor for its Trial Advocacy Program, and a past President and Director of the Vancouver Bar Association. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for Insurance Law since 2006, and is also rated by Martindale-Hubbell and Lexpert.
