About J.

J. Robert Gardiner is senior partner of Gardiner Miller Arnold LLP, a Bay Street firm that focuses on condominium law. He served as President of the Canadian Condominium Institute's Toronto & Area chapter and chaired its Legislative and Education Committees. As chair of the ACMO/CCI Joint Recommendations Committee, he drafted and presented briefs to the Ontario government proposing roughly 180 changes to the Condominium Act during the 1998 reforms, and later took part in the 2017 revisions. He has authored 11 books, including five on condominium law such as The Condominium Act, 1998 - A Practical Guide, and has published hundreds of articles and spoken at dozens of condo seminars over his career. Before concentrating on condominium law, he was an editor of the Osgoode Hall Law Journal and taught business law at Ryerson University, having previously practised corporate and entertainment law. He has been named a Fellow of the Canadian Condominium Institute for his service to the condo community.
