About Ivan

Ivan da Fonseca is a Senior Associate at JFK Law's Kahnawake office, practising both litigation and work supporting Indigenous peoples' self-determination. He joined JFK after working in local legal project development with Inuit and First Nations peoples for Justice Pro Bono, and previously clerked at the Quebec Court of Appeal. Ivan holds an LL.B. from the Université de Montréal, a J.D. from Dalhousie University, and an LL.M. from Utrecht University in the Netherlands, and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2019. He speaks seven languages, including French and English, and is currently learning Inuktitut.
