About Ismail
Ismail Barmania is a partner who founded Barmania Lawyers in 2007. His personal injury practice covers accidents involving cars, motorcycles, boats, bicycles, snowmobiles, and other vehicles, plus slip and fall and occupier's liability claims, and insurance disputes such as accident benefits, long-term disability, life insurance, and fire loss. He has also handled numerous medical malpractice cases, particularly children injured during labour and delivery, and has argued matters at every level of court up to the Supreme Court of Canada. On the estates side, he prepares complex estate plans and trusts and handles estate litigation, including will challenges and beneficiary disputes. He also advises health care corporations on Canadian regulatory approvals for medical devices. He earned his B.A. from Trent University in 1988 and his J.D. from the University of Toronto in 1991, joining Aylesworth LLP upon his call to the Ontario bar in 1993.
