Ian Burroughs has practised law for three decades across four related areas: business law, estate planning and wealth preservation, probate and estate administration, and family enterprise advisory work. In business law he helps local and family-owned enterprises with commercial agreements, leases, and the sale and purchase of businesses. On the personal side he assists individuals and families with wills, representation agreements, and family trusts, including alter ego and joint partner trusts, and advises on probate and estate administration after a death. He holds a certification as a Family Enterprise Advisor, a specialization in guiding family businesses through continuity planning, family dynamics, and business strategy. Ian began his career as a sole practitioner in Richmond, BC, for 18 years, then joined Kerfoot Burroughs LLP as a partner in 2011. In 2023 he returned to sole practice, now serving clients from offices in Vancouver and Nelson, BC.
