About Howard

Howard Markowitz is the name partner of Markowitz LLP, a Toronto firm that restricts its employment law practice to recovering fair termination pay for wrongfully dismissed employees. He has prosecuted more than 3,000 wrongful dismissal lawsuits over roughly three decades and represents only employees, taking cases to trial rather than settling under pressure. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and won McGill University's 1995 Scarlet Key award, and he received his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1998, where he had volunteered since 1995 representing wrongfully dismissed employees as a case-worker. He holds the Q.Arb designation from the ADR Institute of Canada, which qualifies him to arbitrate employment disputes as a private judge, and has been profiled by Canadian Lawyer Magazine and interviewed on Toronto talk radio about employment rights.
