About Heather

Heather Segal is the founding partner of Segal Immigration Law, practising exclusively in Canadian immigration law and American consular and border immigration law. She spent twenty years as a partner at a large Canadian law firm before opening her own practice. Segal has served as an elected director on the American Immigration Lawyers Association Board of Governors for a decade and volunteers on its liaison committee with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. She is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. Segal earned her law degree from Queen's University in 1994 and a Master of Laws in Immigration from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 1996, writing her thesis on environmental refugees.
