Segal Immigration Law is a Toronto firm that practises exclusively in Canadian and American immigration law, working with individuals, families and companies on work permits, visas, permanent residence and citizenship. The firm also handles more complex matters, including waivers of inadmissibility and risk assessments for people who have run into trouble at the Canada-U.S. border. It was founded by Heather Segal, who spent 20 years as a partner at one of Canada's 'Big 4' law firms before opening an independent practice focused entirely on immigration work.

Segal earned a law degree from Queen's University in 1994 and a Master of Laws in Immigration from the University of California, Berkeley in 1996, writing a graduate thesis on environmental refugees, people displaced by environmental degradation. Segal has sat as an elected Director on the American Immigration Lawyers Association's Board of Governors for ten years and volunteers on the group's liaison committee with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
