About Heather

Heather C. Steinke-Attia is Senior Counsel at Akram Attia Law Group, where she practices alongside her husband, Akram Attia. She received her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta in 1996 and has practiced law in Edmonton for 20 years. Her civil litigation practice focuses on motor vehicle accident and other personal injury claims arising under occupiers' liability, along with insurance coverage disputes. Heather began her career in criminal law, clerking at the Alberta Court of Appeal and working as a youth criminal defence lawyer for 10 years before advising on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. She has appeared before the Provincial Court, Court of Queen's Bench, and Court of Appeal, and has taught criminal law as a sessional instructor at MacEwan University and for Alberta Justice and Solicitor General. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association.
