About Harry
Harry Steinmetz was admitted to the Law Society of Ontario in 1990 after earning a B.A. in economics from Carleton University and an LL.B. from the University of Victoria. He is Certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation, a designation held by fewer than 2% of practising lawyers in Ontario. His current litigation practice is limited to plaintiffs' personal injury law, and he has extensive courtroom experience conducting both jury and non-jury trials. He acted as trial counsel for the plaintiff in Kusznierz v Economical Insurance, a leading case that broadened the definition of catastrophic impairment to include combined physical and psychological injuries. He belongs to the Advocates Society, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, and has authored articles on punitive damages and the use of surveillance evidence at trial. He has also served as a guest lecturer at Osgoode Hall's Intensive Trial Advocacy Program.
