About Gavin
Gavin Freitag first worked at Petrone & Partners as a student in 1986, and after being called to the Bar of Ontario in 1993, he practised with another law firm before returning to Petrone & Partners in 2007. His practice has evolved to focus on civil litigation, particularly personal injury claims, with a sub-specialty in traumatic brain injury and acquired brain injury litigation. He works with a multidisciplinary team on complex poly-trauma, orthopaedic injury, and neurofunctional loss claims, and has obtained awards for clients ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to $6.7 million, litigating in most Canadian provinces and several U.S. states. He was co-lead counsel in the Firefighters' Hearing Loss litigation and the Veley v. CGU class action, has instructed in Civil Litigation at the Bar Admission Course, and has guest lectured in Contract Law at Lakehead University. He is a member of the Advocates' Society, the Ontario Trial Lawyers' Association, and the American Association for Justice.
