About Fred

Fred C. Lowther has practised family law in Vancouver for more than 30 years, focusing on property division, spousal support, child custody and access, and inheritance matters. He earned his law degree in 1979 and was called to the bar in 1980, after articling in both Crown and private practice settings. He is a senior member of the family law bar with extensive trial experience in the provincial and supreme courts, as well as appellate work. Lowther works with accountants, appraisers, and pension experts on complex files, and takes an approach of giving clients realistic expectations about outcomes and costs from the outset. His practice also handles uncontested divorces and separation agreements. He lives in Vancouver and maintains his office near the Law Courts on Howe Street downtown.
