About Erika

Erika began practising family law in 2007 after discovering her interest in the field as a summer law student with Alberta Justice. She founded Gordon Family Law on the belief that resolving family matters in court should be the exception rather than the rule, and became a Registered Collaborative Family Lawyer in 2018. Her practice covers divorce and separation, parenting and custody, child and spousal support, matrimonial property, child protection, and domestic violence matters, and she has appeared in trials and hearings in Alberta courts. She holds two law degrees from McGill University, in civil law and common law, along with a business degree from McGill's John Molson School of Business. She serves on the boards of the Association of Collaborative Professionals (Calgary) and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (Alberta), belongs to the Alberta Family Mediation Society and Family Mediation Canada, and volunteers with Calgary Legal Guidance.
