About Éric

Éric Cloutier has practised law for more than 25 years, focusing his practice on civil litigation, including hidden-defect claims, construction law, contract disputes, consumer law, employment law, civil liability and administrative law. He graduated from the law faculty at Université de Sherbrooke in 1998, completed his training at the Barreau de Sherbrooke, and was admitted to practice on April 6, 2000, after articling in the Outaouais and in Granby. Cloutier practised criminal law for more than 15 years before concentrating on civil litigation, and since 2018 has also handled class actions focused on consumer protection and product-quality guarantees. He has appeared before the Court of Appeal of Quebec, the Superior Court, the Court of Québec and several administrative tribunals. He has served as president of the Jeune Barreau de Bedford, sat on the Bedford bar council, and served on the Barreau du Québec's advisory committee on compensation for victims of crime. Since fall 2023 he has supervised students at the Barreau du Québec's legal clinic, and sits on the board of the S.O.S. Dépannage Moisson Granby food bank as its legal advisor.
