About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Liu was called to the British Columbia bar in 1991 after earning her law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1990 and an undergraduate degree from McGill University in 1987. She joined Basham Thompson & Liu LLP (now part of Owen Bird) in 1993 as an associate, becoming a partner and then managing partner, and practised civil litigation there until 2008. Her litigation work included commercial and shareholder disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, wrongful dismissal actions, defamation actions, and construction deficiency disputes, and she appeared as counsel in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the BC Court of Appeal, and the Federal Court of Canada. In 2008 she became Vice-President and General Counsel at Flora Manufacturing & Distributing Ltd., overseeing legal risk management along with business, finance, and HR matters for a company distributing natural health products in more than 30 countries. She later founded LINK Business Law Group to provide in-house-style corporate counsel services to businesses.
