About Elizabete
Elizabete Costa spent 17 years with the government as Crown counsel before joining the private bar in 2017 to open Costa Law, focusing on criminal, quasi-criminal, professional discipline, and regulatory matters, along with select civil cases involving the #MeToo movement. She has worked on wrongful conviction cases since 1996, including the Robert Baltovich case, and was selected as a law student to present research to the Commission of Inquiry into the wrongful conviction of Guy Paul Morin. Elizabete articled with Bolton & Muldoon in Vancouver, BC before beginning her career as Crown counsel in 2000. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Trial Lawyers Association of BC, Women in Canadian Criminal Defence, the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers, the Law Society of British Columbia, and the Criminal Lawyers Association. She graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and studied criminology at the University of Toronto.
