Elisabeth Colson co-manages the firm and heads its Corporate Commercial Department. Fluently bilingual in English and French, she earned a BA with honours in Political Science at McGill University, then completed her law degree at the Université de Montréal, graduating in 1989, and belongs to both the Ontario and Quebec bars. Before joining Devry Smith Frank, she held in-house roles including serving as general counsel to a venture capital firm, working as Vice-President of Legal Affairs at an international franchise company, and acting as legal counsel for a global reinsurance company, where she managed corporate governance and compliance issues across multiple jurisdictions. Her general corporate and commercial practice today covers drafting commercial agreements, corporate reorganizations, and franchising matters. Called to the bar in 1996, she practises from the firm's Toronto and Barrie offices.
