About Douglas

Douglas is a real estate and development lawyer in Ottawa, working in the Municipal, Land Development & Expropriation group. He has acted for private and public sector clients including the former City of Ottawa and the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton, and has represented numerous municipalities and major builders and developers across Eastern Ontario. In expropriation law, he is a member of the Ontario Expropriation Association and has represented municipalities, expropriating authorities and expropriated parties, including on appeals to the courts. Douglas earned his LLB from the University of Ottawa in 1969 and a BA from Carleton University in 1966; he was called to the bar in 1971. He has lectured on municipal law at the University of Ottawa and received the CCLA's Abe Feinstein Solicitor Award in 2021.
