About Donald

Donald G. Martin, Q.C. is Senior Counsel to Thompson, Tooze, McLean and Elkin. He began his career at the firm as an articling student and has practiced there since his call to the Ontario bar in 1964, later being appointed Queen's Counsel in 1982. His practice has focused for more than fifty years on civil litigation, particularly insurance defence, covering occupiers' liability, motor vehicle accidents, property damage, products liability and municipal liability claims. He has conducted numerous jury and non-jury trials and appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Appeal and several provincial tribunals. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1962 after attending the University of Western Ontario, and is a Life Member of the Law Society and a member of the Advocates Society.
